The successful Electrical Engineer will be an individual or incumbent who will be responsible for the general execution of the Electrical engineering and design activities. He/She will have a general Electrical engineering background and will support the Lead Electrical Engineer on a task force. He/She will interface with other Electrical Engineers and various discipline engineers and designers. He/She will participate in developing the project schedule relative to the Electrical engineering and design activities and assist in the preparation of the Electrical man hour estimate. He/She will perform all engineering and design work on schedule and within the budget of man hours. He/She will communicate with Chief Engineers to ensure that proper engineering and design assistance is provided to the various disciplines. He/She will demonstrate effective communication skills, be a self starter and work well with other Commonwealth and Customer staff.
II. Reporting and Interfaces
Functional: Reports directly to the Project Director, Project Manager or Director of Engineering
Administrative: Reports to the Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering Manager
Subordinate Interface, coordination and cooperation includes, but may not be limited to: Associate Electrical Engineers, Electrical Design Supervisor, and Lead Electrical Designers
III. Basic Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 5-10 years hydrocarbon, energy, chemical, refining or closely related process industry experience
Demonstrated Management and Supervision experience of Engineers and Designers
Proven experience with Electrical equipment, schedules and project administration
Possesses fundamental knowledge and experience with construction
Familiar with equipment design, fabrication and inspection
General knowledge of IEEE and NEC codes, and commitment to Safety stewardship and management
Fundamental knowledge of power distribution, electric transformers and motor control centers
General knowledge of Electrical wiring diagrams, installation details, lighting systems and cable schedules
Familiarity with short circuit analysis, relay coordination studies and grounding systems
Possesses the ability to recognize construction execution issues and act accordingly to communicate and mitigate negative impacts, schedule erosion or negative cost trends in an effective and timely manner
Familiar with Quality control and Assurance and possesses working knowledge of requisite codes and standards
Capable of participating in meetings and communicating effectively up and down the chain of command
Familiar with project control cost, scheduling and estimating functions to the extent that issues are realized in sufficient detail to effect timely notice of higher management

V. Education/Formal Training
Minimum requirements are a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas (Recommended)
