Civil/Structural Engineering Manager
FULL TIME BACHELORS DEGREE

Job Description

I.General Responsibilities

The successful C/S engineering manager will be responsible for scheduling all the civil/structural design. The manager will be responsible to distribute the work load to engineers and designers, manpower and interviews of the employment applicants and maintain high degree of professionalism. The manger reports to engineering director and project managers about the progress and discrepancies in current projects. Design steel and concrete structure, equipment support and high rise framed structure. Lead the project and direct the designers and engineers. Review and check the drawings specifications and standards and provide the final stamp to issue. The ability to coordinate between different disciplines is a must and must be able to coordinate with the clients, attend required meetings. C/S manager will also be responsible to assist the project managers with the proposals and the reports required by Project management team.  The C/S Engineering manager must be safety conscious and committed to instill the importance of safety to his sub-ordinates.

II.  Reporting and Interfaces 
  • Functional: Reports directly to the Engineering Director 
  • Administrative: Reports to Engineering Director
  • Subordinate Interface, coordination and cooperation includes, but may not be limited to:  All Engineers and Designers
 
III.  Basic Qualifications and Experience 
  • Minimum 15 to 20 years experience in civil/ structural engineering
  • Texas PE license required 
  • Familiar with IBC, UBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC
  • Familiar with working inside an office atmosphere
  • Proficiency in civil/structural software such as STAAD Pro, RISA 3D

V.  Education/Formal Training 
  • Minimum 4 years bachelors degree in civil or structural  engineering 
  • 15 to 20 years experience in civil/structural engineering and minimum 5 years experience as Lead engineer
 
VI.  Advancement Potential
