The successful Estimator is an individual who performs estimating activities on EPCM projects and/or proposals. The individual will provide support in developing project scopes (for estimate basis) and planning and scheduling of the estimate efforts. For estimate preparation, the individual must execute such activities as development/tabulation of equipment pricing, collection/ recording of material takeoffs, setting unit rates, establishing site conditions including wage rates, and assigning escalation. This individual will assist in the preparation of the Estimate form (per cost code system) and the Estimate Basis documentation. During project execution the Estimator will assist in the development of Change Notices. He/She will assist in completion of all project estimating activities in accordance with established procedures and processes. This individual will participate in maintenance of estimating databases. He/she must learn and understand all aspects of estimating work including coordination with Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, and support personnel.
II. Reporting and Interfaces
Functional: Reports to Project Controls Lead (Lead Estimator if one is assigned to the project)
Administrative: Reports to Manager of Estimating or Manager of Project Controls
Peer Interfaces: Buyers, Discipline Engineers, & Lead Designers
III. Basic Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 1 to 3 years experience with estimating and cost handling in oil, gas, chemical, or petrochemical project execution with emphasis on estimating
Minimum 3-5 years total experience, primarily in the E&C industry
Personal Capability of employing Estimating tools (esp. Icarus) to accomplish Estimating activities on a Project

V.Education/Formal Training
Degree in Engineering, Accounting, or related technical field is preferred.
